Oluyole Warriors suffer back-to-back barren home draws as Kano Pillars claim a vital point in Ibadan.
The EuroMatch Nigeria Premier Football League witnessed a tense encounter on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, as Shooting Stars hosted Kano Pillars for a rescheduled Matchday 3 fixture.
Played at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan, the match ended in a 0-0 stalemate, marking the second consecutive home match where the Oluyole Warriors failed to score, according to information published by sports247.
Despite enjoying strong home support, head coach Salisu Yusuf watched his side struggle to break down a resolute visiting defense, leaving both teams to share the spoils.
Shooting Stars Struggle with Home Scoring Form
The latest result highlights a growing concern for the Oluyole Warriors regarding their attacking output on home soil. This stalemate follows a similar 0-0 draw against Nasarawa United during Matchday 7.
Even with substantial possession and the backing of passionate fans in Ibadan, Shooting Stars lacked the clinical edge needed to turn dominance into maximum points in the EuroMatch NPFL.
Kano Pillars Secure Valuable Away Point
For Kano Pillars, the goalless draw offers a welcome defensive boost after a difficult run of fixtures. Known as Sai Masu Gida, the team traveled to Ibadan looking for a spark.
The visitors previously drew 1-1 at home against Sporting Lagos, and while they remain without a recent win, securing a point away from home leaves them as the happier side.
Salisu Yusuf Faces Frustration Against Former Side
Head coach Salisu Yusuf faced a frustrating afternoon at the Lekan Salami Stadium while matching tactical wits against his former employers.
The experienced tactician must now regroup his squad quickly, as Shooting Stars need to rediscover their winning formula to climb away from the lower end of the standings.
