Celebrating the 30th anniversary, the Pokemon Fender guitars feature retro pixel art and an 8-bit sound toggle.
The iconic franchise is teaming up with renowned guitar manufacturer Fender to celebrate a major milestone in gaming history. This unique partnership introduces two electric models inspired by the original titles, combining classic craftsmanship with nostalgic design elements.
Scheduled for release as part of the ongoing 30th-anniversary festivities, the instruments pay homage to the games that debuted in Japan back in 1996. Fans and musicians alike will soon have the chance to secure these collectible pieces through official online storefronts, according to information published by dexerto.
Both electric guitars merge recognizable hardware aesthetics with authentic pixel art from the classic Game Boy era. The collaboration highlights how enduring the franchise remains, bridging the gap between vintage gaming culture and professional musical equipment.
Pokemon Red Version Stratocaster and Green Version Telecaster Details
Announced officially on October 30, the collaboration includes two distinct Japanese-made electric guitars crafted by Fender in Japan. The lineup features the Pokemon Red Version Stratocaster, which boasts a striking red finish, alongside the Pokemon Green Version Telecaster in green.
Each instrument is decorated with authentic pixel art inspired by the original releases. Furthermore, every guitar includes a custom neck plate specifically commemorating the 30th anniversary of the franchise and the partnership with the instrument maker.
Special 8-Bit Game Boy Sound Feature
One of the most exciting aspects of these instruments is a special toggle switch built into the hardware. This unique function allows musicians to shift the output into 8-bit audio, faithfully recreating the distinct sounds of the original Game Boy era.
The official account shared enthusiasm for the project on X, noting that trainers should stay tuned for upcoming details. These special instruments are slated to arrive soon on the Pokemon Center platform for advance orders.
