Osasco prepares for a crucial Superliga clash in Belo Horizonte, potentially bringing key starters back to the court.
The Osasco Sao Cristovao Saude volleyball team returns to the court this Saturday, looking to secure its second victory in the 2026/27 Women's Superliga. The squad travels to Belo Horizonte to face Batavo Mackenzie starting at 4 PM, with live broadcast provided by GE TV.
Head coach Luizomar de Moura opted to rest several regular starters during the team's opening match on Monday night. In that straight-sets victory away against Brasilia BRB, backup players gained valuable playing time before this weekend's challenging fixture.
For the upcoming matchup, essential athletes such as Marta Bechis, Magdalena Stysiak, and Amanda could return to the starting lineup, according to information published by WEBVOLEI.
Overcoming a Tough Travel Schedule in Brazil
Captain Amanda highlighted the physical toll of a packed calendar, noting that the squad recently traveled extensively for major tournament finals and season openers.
The team competed in the Sao Paulo Championship final in Bauru, contested the Supercup in Sao Luis, Maranhao, and immediately traveled to Brasilia for the Superliga debut.
Despite the fatigue from this heavy travel schedule, Amanda emphasized that the team completed a strong preseason and remains fully motivated to fight for another championship trophy.
Roster Challenges and Legal Setbacks
While key veterans may return to the court, Osasco will face a significant absence as outside hitter Tifanny is not expected to play in this weekend's fixture.
The athlete recently lost legal battles on Friday, resulting in the immediate loss of her match eligibility status for the current tournament phase.
Legal representatives for the player have already confirmed that her legal counsel plans to appeal the recent court decisions in the coming days.
Previous Match Strategy and Substitutions
During the opening victory against Brasilia, coach Luizomar de Moura managed his squad carefully by utilizing alternative players from the bench.
Athletes including Marina Sioto, Lorrayna, Larissa, Lays, Mari Brambilla, Anastasia Guerra, and libero Marcelle formed the initial starting rotation.
This strategic rotation allowed top stars to recover, setting the stage for a stronger tactical approach against Batavo Mackenzie in Belo Horizonte.
