Fury FC champion Carlos Calderon replaces injured Lucas Brennan at UFC Vegas 124 on short notice.
The upcoming UFC Vegas 124 event inside the Meta Apex in Las Vegas has undergone a major fight card adjustment just days before the opening bell. Featherweight prospect Austin Bashi was originally scheduled to face Lucas Brennan this Saturday, November 7, 2026.
However, the matchup fell apart after Brennan suffered a complete ACL tear during training camp. Matchmakers quickly secured a replacement to keep Bashi on the fight card for the upcoming Las Vegas fight card, according to information published by mmamania.
Stepping up on just four days notice, Fury FC Featherweight champion Carlos Calderon will now make his promotional debut inside the Octagon. The late-notice replacement sets up a high-stakes featherweight clash as fight week gets underway in Nevada.
Austin Bashi Contract Pressure at UFC Vegas 124
Austin Bashi enters this weekend with a 1-2 promotional record inside the organization. The 25-year-old fighter earned his contract on Season 8 of Dana White's Contender Series, but his recent Octagon run includes a decision loss to Jose Delgado.
Saturday evening carries immense professional pressure because it marks the final fight on Bashi current UFC contract. A decisive victory will strengthen his bargaining position, while another setback could jeopardize his future with the promotion.
Carlos Calderon UFC Debut and Recent Momentum
Carlos Calderon arrives in the organization riding an impressive three-fight winning streak. The 31-year-old fighter captured the Fury FC belt by submitting veteran Damon Jackson with a fourth-round rear-naked choke.
Nicknamed The Chief, Calderon successfully defended his regional title last month by defeating Lorram Esteves via unanimous decision. He boasts a 73 percent finishing rate, securing six of his 11 professional victories by submission.
Updated UFC Vegas 124 Main Event and Fight Card
The event itself experienced further shuffling when the promotion abruptly cancelled the original November 7 main event. A heavyweight clash between Waldo Cortes-Acosta and Johnny Walker now serves as the new headliner.
The finalized lineup features multiple international competitors across various weight divisions, including Virna Jandiroba against Tatiana Suarez. Fans can watch all preliminary and main card bouts broadcast live from the Nevada facility.
