Alexa Bliss and Tatum Paxley secure the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship on Friday night SmackDown.
On Friday evening, professional wrestlers Alexa Bliss and Tatum Paxley captured the prestigious WWE Women's Tag Team Championship during an action-packed episode of SmackDown.
The newly formed duo secured the victory by defeating the formidable team known as Fatal Influence, which consists of Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid, in a high-stakes match.
This major title change occurred due to an unexpected backstage assault, forcing a last-minute lineup change that ultimately reshaped the division, according to information published by bleache.
How the Championship Match Unfolded
Earlier in the evening, Tatum Paxley was originally scheduled to challenge for the titles alongside Charlotte Flair before chaos erupted backstage.
Wrestlers Jade Cargill, B-Fab, and Michin launched a sudden attack on Flair, leaving her favoring her left shoulder and unable to compete.
SmackDown general manager Nick Aldis officially stopped Flair from participating after medical personnel denied her clearance to compete in the scheduled bout.
The Crucial Substitution on SmackDown
Following the medical disqualification, Charlotte Flair insisted that Alexa Bliss step up and take her vacant spot in the championship match.
Although Alexa Bliss showed initial reluctance to accept the sudden replacement role, she ultimately agreed to participate alongside Tatum Paxley.
This spontaneous decision proved successful as the duo maintained control, overcoming interference from Lainey Reid to secure a completely clean victory.
Decisive Moments and Finishing Moves
The crucial turning point arrived late in the bout when the referee successfully caught Lainey Reid red-handed while interfering in the match.
Capitalizing on the chaos, Alexa Bliss delivered a devastating Sister Abigail maneuver to Reid directly onto the hard arena floor outside.
Seizing the final opening, Tatum Paxley hit Fallon Henley with her signature Cemetery Drive finishing move to secure the decisive pinfall.
Historic Title Milestones for the Winners
This monumental victory marks the fifth career WWE Women's Tag Team Championship for Alexa Bliss, adding to her extensive legacy.
For Tatum Paxley, this emotional win represents her very first main-roster championship victory after experiencing prior success in the NXT brand.
