New partnership secures the 2026 beach volleyball championship with a dominant gold medal finish.
Andre and Renato clinched the 2026 Brazilian Beach Volleyball Circuit title on Sunday, November 1, after winning the Maceio stage in Alagoas.
Playing together for the first time, the duo secured the national championship with one stage to spare by capturing their third gold medal of the year under coach Caio Lopes, according to information published by WEBVOLEI.
The victory marks a remarkable achievement for a newly formed team that quickly exceeded expectations despite initial plans for a gradual return to competitive sports.
Overcoming expectations in a comeback season
For Andre, the 2026 season was originally intended as a slow return to the courts following a sabbatical period away from professional tournaments.
The athlete admitted that everything accelerated rapidly from the middle of the year onward as he built chemistry with his new partner.
He praised the dedication of the entire staff, highlighting that the support team featured professionals who lacked prior experience in beach volleyball.
Milestones and historic titles for the champions
The triumph in Maceio holds distinct historical significance for both competitors as they cement their names in national sports history.
Renato captured his very first Brazilian championship title, while Andre celebrated his fifth career national crown.
Andre previously won the 2018/2019 season with Evandro, the 2019/2020 and 2020/2021 titles, and the 2022 championship alongside George.
Womens division heads to decisive final stage
While the mens tournament concluded early, the womens competition remains wide open heading into the final stretch of the season.
Hege and Vitoria jumped to the top of the standings after securing the gold medal in Maceio, closely followed by Verena and Thainara.
The final tournament to crown the womens champions will take place in Itapema, Santa Catarina, between December 2 and December 6.
