Super Eagles forward Akor Adams faces a mounting challenge at Venezia following their sixth consecutive Serie A defeat.
Nigerian international Akor Adams is enduring a difficult spell in Italy after Venezia suffered another disappointing result in the Italian top flight, falling 3-1 away against Atalanta in a challenging encounter.
The recent setback extended the club's miserable start to the league campaign, leaving the team without a single point from their opening six matches and firmly rooted at the very bottom of the Serie A standings, according to information published by sports247.
With six defeats from six league fixtures, the troubling start has already raised serious concerns about the club's prospects of maintaining their top-flight status, placing immediate pressure on the squad and coaching staff to turn things around.
Venezia struggles in Serie A after Atalanta loss
The latest defeat against Atalanta further exposed the scale of the challenge facing Venezia in Italy. Although the season remains in its early stages, the club cannot afford to allow their losing streak to continue indefinitely.
The team must begin collecting points quickly to avoid falling further behind their relegation rivals in the standings. For a side sitting at the bottom of the table, every upcoming fixture carries increasing significance for their survival hopes.
Akor Adams situation attracts attention from Nigerian fans
The difficult situation has also attracted attention among Nigerian football followers, particularly those who expressed reservations about the forward's move to the Italian side. With the club struggling for results, concerns surrounding the transfer have become more pronounced.
However, problems at the club extend beyond any individual player. As a striker, Akor Adams requires effective service, attacking support, and greater cohesion from his teammates to make a meaningful impact on the pitch.
The collective responsibility to reverse Venezia fortunes
Without improved performances across the entire squad, the Super Eagles international could find himself facing an increasingly difficult campaign in Italy. The responsibility for reversing results must be shared collectively rather than placed solely on his shoulders.
Turning the season around will require significant improvements in organisation, defensive stability, and attacking efficiency. The team's immediate priority must be ending their losing streak and restoring confidence within the locker room.
Path to recovery for Venezia and Akor Adams
Despite their disappointing start, the club still has an opportunity to recover and improve their position in the standings. Finding rhythm in a struggling side will be crucial for the forward as he seeks to establish himself in Italy.
The Nigerian player will hope that improved collective performances can provide the platform needed to demonstrate his attacking qualities. Unless results improve quickly, the squad could face a long and difficult battle to preserve their top-flight status.
